We have been celebrating the Sunday School reaching, teaching, and serving ministry of Piney Grove Baptist church throughout the month of September. We are moving in the direction of "Celebrating Sunday School through High Attendance Sunday" on Sunday September 25. Our Biblical theme for this month is Deuteronomy 31:12. "Gather the people together, men and women and little ones, and the stranger who is within your gates, so that they may hear and that they may learn to fear the Lord your God and carefully observe all the words of this law."

Last Sunday morning our own Rev. Adam Mikel presented "A Sunday School that Really Works" to our entire adult Sunday School. Adam effectively presented the following principles owned by a Sunday School that Really Works.

Ø Wants to grow

Ø Organizes to grow

Ø Reaches out to the lost and the unchurched

Ø Keeps all the members connected

Ø Sharpens the skills of the leaders continually

Ø The purpose of Celebrating Sunday School through High Attendance Sunday is to provide us an opportunity to focus on gathering the people. Already, each Sunday School class has been asked to set goals for contacts and attendance. We will be recognizing the Sunday School classes that makes the most contacts, the class with the highest number in attendance, as well as the class that has the highest percentage of their enrollment present.

Ø Each class is invited to prayer over those who are on roll as well as those who are yet to be enrolled in a Sunday School class. Next, each class is urged to reach out by direct visit, email, tweet, mail, and telephone. This may be a good time to visit and to provide a Sunday School study book fort those we are seeking to reach. Every person who is on a class’s role should receive one or more contacts. Finally each person is asked to be in attendance in Sunday School on September 25.

Ø Our Lord Jesus Christ has blessed out Sunday School ministry with great leadership and gifted teaching. Sunday School is a ministry where each of us can be personally involved in what our Lord Jesus Christ is doing in and through Piney Grove Baptist Church.

Ø I personally believe in and participate in the Sunday School movement of our church. I know you do also. I am asking you to be in prayer about our Sunday School. We are urging you to reach out to those who are not yet experiencing the blessings of Sunday School. We are especially asking you to be present for Celebrating Sunday School through High Attendance Sunday on September 25.
